DANGLED CONDITIONS
INSTRUCTOR: LOUIS MOLINA - ARCH283 - SPRING 2020
The study of the student body as a means to create a physical device that responds to a contemporary problem as a wearable crafted apparatus, and the study of a precedent to create dormitories for the students at Woodbury University. The armor was constructed of a wire structure that collected trash in the form of an adjustable pink skirt that contained loose pieces of cloth in which collected objects could be tied around. Thus, wearing it made a statement for awareness of how much waste we put into the environment. Initially, the exterior design of my project contained moments in which the existing and new buildings are getting cut into, to provide interior courtyards in relation to the precedent study. As opposed to the exterior, the interior transforms into a more rectilinear composition so as to show the transformation that the armor undergoes when an object is tied around it.
